WHEN AND HOW TO USE COMID?

All healthcare professionals can use the COMID to assess the complexity of caring for an adult receiving home care.

How to use the evaluation grid? The COMID consists of 30 items classified into 6 domains, with closed questions (no=0 and yes=1). Once completed, a score is computed, ranging from 0 to 30. Two additional questions enable professionals to assess the situation. It can be completed in just a few minutes and used periodically as required in each situation.

HOW TO INTERPRET THE SCORE ?

For your information:

  • A score below 5 can be considered as a non-complex situation.
  • A score between 6 and 9 may be considered as a situation at risk of complexity.
  • A score above 10 may be considered as a complex situation.

The score obtained is an indication that should lead to an in-depth analysis of the situation, by item and by domain based on the professional's knowledge of the situation and its evolution over time.
